@arthurandsons Arthur & Sons, a charming spot in the West Village of NYC April 2024: Cozy and Quirky Arthur & Sons may be small, but it's undeniably cute. The bright, cheerful interior feels like something out of a glossy pop video--think TikTok-friendly technicolor. Scalloped red leather booths, Sinatra playing softly in the background--it's all there. However, brace yourself for the noise level. It's loud, but that's part of the youthful energy. If you can overlook that, you're in for a treat. Culinary Highlights Now, let's talk food. The vodka sauce steals the show--it's rich, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with the spicy rigatoni. And fear not--the bartender knows how to pour a generous drink. The meatballs are tender and well-seasoned, falling apart like they aspire to be bolognese. Spring Evenings and Buratta During that spring evening, Arthur & Sons worked its magic. And if you've been there in winter for a quick lunch, you know the vibe. But let's focus on the burrata--it's a winner. Creamy, indulgent, and consistently delightful. So, despite the noise, lackluster moments, and confusing marinara, this spot has its own unique charm.

Went to Arthur and Sons for a birthday dinner and it was so good! They give you complimentary bread with a dipping oil which is so tasty and flavorful! The service was really Good and the vibe and interior of the restaurant was really cute. We ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka with chicken cutlet. The dish was definitely big enough to split between two people. The drinks were also very good! Overall a 10/10 experience

Decent restaurant that will get packed, so make a reservation. The portions are large and descent in flavor. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. I'm not much of a pasta person, but Nonna's ravioli was quite good out if the several pastas we got. Hands down my favorite item was the side of the hot cherry peppers and potatoes. I never knew balsamic can work so well with scalloped potatoes. I've discovered something amazing through this place. The appetizers get a very hearty helping of cheese. Like ceaser salad, which was ok and the trio of mozzarella sticks. The other item that blew me away was the vodka sauce thay came with the trio. Higly recommend. Mixed non-alcoholic drinks seem to be overpriced and not worth it. I got a cherry coke which was $14 with no refills. I totally understand this is not a place on the cheaper side, but I just didn't see the value here vs the rest of the meal and food. Overall I do think this is an overpriced place, but trying it once is recommended.

Had a late lunch/early dinner on a Monday around 4pm. It was nice and quiet there but service was attentive and friendly. We ordered the baked clams oreganata to start. Perfectly cooked and that sauce? omg! For my main, I had the spicy rigatoni alla vodka and added chicken for protein. Skip the roasted chicken breast, it was so dry it did nothing for my pasta. Perhaps I'd op for the italian sausage or steak next time. My cousin ordered the rigatoni bolognese which was delicious! We each ordered one drink, The Sophia Loren which was a sweet shaken pina colada and a dry martini with olives.

We visited Arthur & Sons NY Italian on a Sunday evening, having made a reservation far in advance. The interior had a casual vibe, with old school lighting fixtures, black and white tiled floors, and framed graffiti art on the walls, with some old photos mixed in. Our server Ari was incredibly professional, and had previously worked in Michelin star dining. She walked us through the menu, shared recommendations, and was very thorough about dietary restrictions. For drinks, I got a glass of the Chianti Reserva, which was fantastic. Since Arthur & Sons is known for their large portions, we decided to order all our food to share. We chose the Caesar Salad, Eggplant Stack alla Arturo's, and Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka. The Caesar Salad was huge and so tasty - a well executed classic. The Eggplant Stack alla Arturo's was my boyfriend's favorite. We got it with the prosciutto on the side, since I don't eat pork. The eggplant was perfectly crispy and the flavors were so well balanced. The Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka was also very good. The sauce had the perfect spice level for me, but the pasta was just slightly overcooked. Had it been al dente, this dish would've haunted my dreams. We ordered an extra side of pecorino for the pasta, which I highly recommend. Overall, this was the perfect amount of food for two people. Great for dinner!

How anyone could give this gem less than five stars, I don't know! As someone who has adopted European dining habits on my off time (read long, luxurious meals), Arthur & Sons hit the spot! I ended up here because my husband sent me a video on their spicy rigatoni alla vodka and I loved the vibe. This place has impeccable energy. Everyone is welcoming from the start. The host, so hip in his hoodie and super cool classic glasses, said, "thank you for coming today." I was sat immediately (please keep in mind this was 10 minutes after opening). I love that the tables are well spaced, so you're not smashed next to someone else or having to shimmy past their table. Awesome retro vibe. I started with the meatballs, which may be the best meatballs I have had. They are so well-seasoned, decadent, cheesy from the parmesan, and that basil is wicked fresh and sweet! I loved it! The spicy rigatoni alla vodka is all that they say it is--al dente, so delicious and saucy! Even the bread they serve at the beginning (and I'm not a bread person) is great--with roasted garlic and olive oil. I had a few of their cocktails. The maitai is great. The Pina colada is beautiful and showy, but it's a one and done for me. A little milky and heavy. I finished with one of their spritzes, the Amalfi--blood orange malfy gin, italicus, orange, and Prosecco. The menu also boasts calamari, bruschetta, gnocchi, various forms of spaghetti, dishes like cavatelli and broccoli rabe (with multiple additions available--chicken, meatballs, Italian sausage, shrimp, veal, and more). When I return, I think I'll try to old school gravy--rigatoni tossed in slow cooked tomato sauce with meatballs and sausage, served with basil, ricotta, pecorino, and Romano. Mmmmmmmm! This is an impeccable spot for a date, a business meeting, or a solo meal. You can't beat the food/service/vibes in these classic digs.

After stopping here last trip for lunch, this time I made it a point to stop here for an actual dinner actually. We made reservations and took the subway to the area. They are always slammed, but we were able to sit at the small bar and have a drink while our table was getting prepared. I ordered one of the canned cocktails on the menu - and although the bartender was nice and welcoming- the drink was not good. I am not sure the recipe was followed. This is why I usually just go with a standard Crown & diet. We were summoned to our table and sat down, placing our order all at once to satisfy the kitchen. Did I mention it is loud here? We ordered burrata in addition to the table bread and oil they give you. The burrata and tomatoes are very goo - fresh bread, perfect start to the meal. For my entree I ordered the chicken parm, and since they had the holy trinity of italian dishes (chicken parm, cacio de pepe, carbonara), I decided to go with two: chicken parm and cacio de pepe. And it was a good thing I did- the parm DID NOT come with pasta. HUH?!?!?! That should probably be in BOLD on the menu. So the cacio de pepe ended up being my pasta addition to the parm. Which I am not complaining about - just would prefer not to pay $25 for a side of pasta. The chicken parm was like velvet - cheesy cocoon surrounding thin slices of chicken fried cutlets. Very good - though very minimal sauce on on it. Check my photos. Cacio de pepe was good- but the sauce seemed to immediately stick to the noodles making it a mess to eat. Noodles were al dente which was perfect. Ordered limoncello cheesecake as the dessert which was incredible. Huge slice, lemon curd topping and a HEAP of whipped cream. Our waitress was a little aloof at times. Still waiting on that refill.

TLDR: Large portions so make sure you split everything! The food itself is nothing crazy special but they do everything well. It has good flavor and portion size for the cost. Its a great place to do family style meals. 3 appetizers and 3 entrees was too much food for 6 people.

First time here and the vibes were so good! Server was attentive with checking in periodically. The spicy vodka rigatoni is a must try if you visit - not spicy but a perfect creamy + savory/flavorful blend. The chicken parmigiana was just okay, nothing too special & chicken was not so tender. Overall 5/5 for the cute atmosphere, authentic vibes, attentive server, & vodka rigatoni!
